The kids are still telling people Merry Christmas and Emma is still thanking God "for elves and Santa", while I'm taking down the Christmas decorations to "awww, but I like Christmas and Brittany has to have her Christmas". We may have to get out the little tree for your homecoming! For the first time in years I didn't get a picture of you kids in front of the tree and Isaiah reminded me AFTER the tree came down. It was just such a different Christmas and New Year. I did take one of him and Emma in Colorado in front of Gram's tree, so maybe that will count for something!? I have pictures to post, but have to get to the other computer to do it...maybe tomorrow.
Blake showed his yellow and his black steers at Top O Texas. He didn't do that well, but London won Grand Champion with one of the steers from our herd, so that was good. Blake was going to help show one of their steers in the grand drive (3 of theirs made it!) when it decided to bolt. He tried to stop it and he landed on Blake's foot and wouldn't move. He finally got the steer off and we ended up having to take him to the emergency room for x-rays, but nothing was broken. Isaiah was all over the prayer end of things and prayed all evening for Blake's "inphysical body" (weren't sure if it was invisible or physical) and Emma kept telling me to "pray mom!" so he was covered. He's still pretty sore and swollen, but okay. I had just prayed that God would spoil him rotten with His goodness this year and had one of the Evan Almighty "I wish You wouldn't be so good/ love me so much!?" moments. But as always, He shows His goodness in unexpected ways and Blake has been able to kick back, rest and have us to help him with feeding steers, cooking, and taking out the trash!
When I was at the store this morning I ran into LaFonda and she asked about you. She had just been watching a show on people ministering to children in Ecquador and thought of you. She said she prays for you and thinks of you often and sends her love. You really impacted her life in your short time at United. I know I have some more really cute things that the kids have said written down somewhere, I just don't know where that somewhere is, so it will have to wait. Abundant grace to you and your team! Love you!
